Firmware Update Needed for HS4 Storefront Lock

Modified on Tue, 17 Jan 2023 at 09:29 AM

Description of the issue:
In the HS4 Storefront Lock (HF28, HE28, HP28) units with firmware device number 196, version 00.20 of the firmware has a bug that will eventually corrupt and delete the security code of the lock, making it impossible to open the XS4 One from the outside by using a credential (card, fob, phone).

If your storefront devices remain on this firmware version, the lock will eventually experience the memory corruption and stop working. This can occur anywhere between 7 days and two years after installation. Therefore, it is imperative that this firmware is updated as soon as possible.

Resolution (Complete ASAP):
The firmware on the lock must be updated to version 00.21

SALTO ProAccess SPACE installations:
For affected locks that are installed in a SPACE environment, instructions for the firmware update along with the new firmware files are located in the folder linked below. These instructions assume an offline lock, but if your locks are online BLUEnet devices, please respond to this message for assistance pushing firmware updates over the air.

SALTO KS installations:
For affected locks that are online in a SALTO KS environment, our development team is pushing a firmware update over the air. You do not need to take any action at this time for your KS Storefront Locks. If any locks are unable to be updated remotely, we will contact you directly with a list and further
instructions.
