We have experienced issued with a current draw issue on some 34K series locks. This causes the batteries to drain much faster than intended.

Be sure the lock has been setup and is out of Factory Mode per Instruction I-LS02111 or I-LS02139
- Connect to Lock
- Connect the Type A plug of the USB cable provided to the PC/laptop and the Mini Type B plug to the lock (located under the battery cover on the lock).
- Check on your PC (in the Control Panel / Devices and Printers folder) to find which COM port number the Prolific USB port is located. The example below is COM4.
Activated the Connection Mode
- On the lock (see section 3.1.16 in I-LS02111 34K1 Programming Manual or I-LS02139 34K2 Programming Manual).
Use the code below to activate the Connection Mode for the lock:

Firmware Version Update
Ensure Lock is connected to PC with supplied USB cable and make sure the Lock is in Connection Mode. (See step 1 - 2).
- From the Main Menu, select the Connect to Lock tab and then select Lock Config Transfer.
1. Choose the correct COM port
2. Click Connect to Lock
When Connect to Lock has been completed, the current FW version will show up on the top of the screen.
Click the FW Update icon, use the pop up menu to go to the file location of the updated firmware file and select it from the window. Select Open and the prompt window for the firmware update will pop up on the screen. Select OK to start the firmware update process.
If the lock is in Factory Mode, please process the steps as below A~C first, IF NOT(E.g.: the lock is already in use/ in the field), please SKIP the steps A~C, then process the step 1~3 directly in the next page.
- RTC (Real Time Clock) Setting
Power on first, the lock will be indicated by 3 long beeps with a blinking red light, please use the code below to complete the RTC setting:
12 digit RTC time mean YY (year), MM (month), DD (day), hh (hour), mm (minute), and ss (second) followed by #.
If the setting is successful, then the buzzer will beep once with a green light. If the setting fails, then the buzzer will beep three times with a blinking red light.- Modify Master Code
Use the code below to set a new Master Code:

If the setting is successful, then the buzzer will beep once with a green light. If the setting fails, then the buzzer will beep three times with a blinking red light.- Reset to Factory Default Setting
Please process the steps 1~3 in the next page to complete the firmware update first, after compete FW updated, please reset the lock to Factory Mode as flowing the steps below:
c.1. Turn off the POWER SWITCHc.2. Press and Hold the RESET button
c.3. Turn on the POWER SWITCH and wait for 12 seconds
c.4. After Buzzer beeps once with a green light, release the RESET button
When firmware update is complete, the lock will disconnect from the PC automatically.
