Did you not receive an outside spindle for your 3800 Series lock?
It isn't supplied because the '80' storeroom function doesn't need one!
The outside spring cage is inactive and always inoperable. You can only draw the latch by turning the key or interior handle.
This applies only to the functions 80, 81, 82 and 83.
