4500 SVR/CVR will not dog

As you can see in the picture, the exit's dogging mechanism will not fully engage to allow the exit to be held in the dogged position.

The rest of the device will work as intended.

The typical cause for this is due to the vertical rods. To ensure the device dogging mechanism is functioning, disconnect the rods and see if you are able to place the device in the dogged position.

If the device does go to the dogged position, you will need to looses one or both of rods slightly. Typically 1-2 turns. This will allow the push bar to be pushed in slightly further allowing the dogging mechanism to lock into the push bar.
